Chat and Collaboration
Teams now lets you open core features in separate windows, such as chat, calls, calendar, and activity. This makes it easier to work in parallel without switching between tabs and gives you more control over your workspace. In addition, joining private teams via code now requires owner approval, reducing the risk of unauthorized access without sacrificing convenience for legitimate users.
Meetings, Webinars, and Town Halls
Interpreter and multilingual support have been refined. When interpretation is enabled, spoken language is automatically detected and synchronized across interpretation, captions, and transcription. There is also a clear “preparing” status when interpretation starts, along with clearer settings, making it easier to run meetings in multiple languages.
Teams Phone
After calls in Teams Phone, you can now open Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat in the calling app to get a summary, identify key points, and receive suggested next steps. The feature uses data from Microsoft Graph and the web, not just the call transcript, for more relevant answers. For organizations with compliance requirements, there is also support for third-party recording at the queue level. Recording is applied to all calls that pass through a given queue, simplifying administration as teams and roles change. Core Capabilities and Security
New protection against domain impersonation in Teams messages helps identify external contacts attempting to pose as coming from your own domain. The feature analyzes the sender’s identity and the domain’s authenticity at first contact and warns users of suspicious activity, reducing phishing risks in chat.
Frontline and Devices
Microsoft is introducing the Frontline Hub in the Teams Admin Center to centralize deployment, management, and monitoring of frontline experiences in one place. On the hardware side, new Teams-certified headsets and cameras from EPOS and Lenovo are highlighted, as well as new Yealink solutions for Teams Rooms for small to large meeting rooms.
