What has changed
Microsoft is deprecating the Power BI integration in SharePoint lists and libraries that enables “Visualize the list” and “Visualize the library.” Starting November 11, 2025, you will no longer be able to create new reports via these buttons, and as of December 11, 2025, existing reports created with this feature will become inaccessible.
What this means for SharePoint and Teams
Organizations that currently open quick Power BI views directly in SharePoint will lose that shortcut. This also affects teams working in Microsoft Teams where SharePoint lists are often embedded in channels or tabs: the previous quick reports will disappear and need to be replaced with reports published via Power BI and then embedded as a tab in Teams.
Recommended alternatives
Microsoft points to two paths for continuing to analyze SharePoint list data in Power BI. You can create a semantic model object directly from a SharePoint list in the Power BI service and then use autogenerated “quick reports,” which approximates the experience you had in SharePoint. Alternatively, you can connect to the SharePoint list via Power BI Desktop when you need more advanced modeling or transformation, and then publish the report to Power BI and embed it where it will be used, for example in Teams.
What you should do now
If you rely on “Visualize the list” or “Visualize the library,” plan for migration in good time. Identify which reports are in use, recreate them either via the Power BI service or in Power BI Desktop, and replace links or tabs in SharePoint and Teams before December 11, 2025 to avoid disruptions.
