Microsoft 365 Copilot can now summarize Word files shared in 1:1 and group chats in Teams, including in the mobile app. This lets users get a quick overview without opening the document, with the same permissions and sensitivity level as the original file. There is also an updated emoji shortcut logic where you type :emoji-name: for faster input, including improved search for both standard and custom emojis.
meetings, webinars, and town halls
Audio-format meeting recap is generally available. Users can generate audio summaries for up to eight meetings at a time and choose a style, such as a newscast with a single voice or a more conversational approach. Teams Rooms on Windows get support for multiple camera modes and IntelliFrame in webinars and structured meetings, with controls for what participants see. In government clouds (GCC, GCCH, DoD), Event Chat becomes available in Town Halls for more secure, threaded conversations during and after the broadcast.
Teams Phone
Calls receive an intelligent recap in a separate pop-out within the Calls app where AI summarizes recorded or transcribed calls, with suggested actions and key points. Teams Phone Mobile is now generally available with AT&T, enabling the same number to work on mobile and in the Teams clients. Teams-certified desk phones get easier feedback with suggested text based on ratings, as well as improved call transfer experiences with clearer status and safer consultation flows. workplace: Teams Rooms and Places
The Facilitator agent is now available for scheduled meetings in Teams Rooms on Android for real-time notes, follow-ups, and time management, available with a Rooms Pro license. Cloud IntelliFrame is now supported on Android with group framing as the default, providing clearer views of people in the room, and the room’s video pane can automatically resize depending on the number of people. Live captions in Teams Rooms on Android can be translated per user into any language without affecting others’ views. Teams Rooms on Android can also join Town Halls and webinars as participants, and presenter rooms get better front-of-room control on both Windows and Android. For Windows rooms, production controls in Town Hall are also expanded so organizers can control which presenters are visible and audible, and adjust layout in combination with Teams Premium. Administrators get simplified settings for voice and facial recognition directly on devices and in the Pro Management portal, including reports with people counting from Cloud IntelliFrame and a page with recommended actions for proactive management.
